Cyborg drafts JDs in your voice, posts to 7 boards, screens applications using a structured rubric, schedules interviews across 4 timezones, runs the 30-day onboarding day-by-day, answers policy questions from your handbook, and flags morale signals before they become exits. — 02 / WHAT IT DOES

— CAPABILITIES

From open req to signed offer — with paperwork done.

Bias-aware screening (rubric-first, name-blind by default). Hiring decisions always human. Offer letters always founder-signed. Cyborg does the 70% of work nobody enjoys.

JD drafting in your voice

T2 · GUIDED

Reads your existing JDs + brand voice + comp band. Drafts new JDs (mission-led, jargon-free, inclusive language). Founder reviews + signs off. Auto-posts to 7 boards.

Resume screening, rubric-first

T1 · AUTONOMOUS

Scores every application against a structured rubric (5-7 dimensions). Name-blind by default. Top 15% advanced, bottom 60% sent a kind decline within 24h, middle 25% queued for hiring manager review.

Interview scheduling

T1 · AUTONOMOUS

Coordinates between 3-5 interviewers + candidate across timezones. Sends Zoom/Meet links, prep doc, panel rubric. Reschedules no-shows up to 2 attempts.

Reference checks

T2 · GUIDED

Reaches out to 3 references via email, conducts structured 5-question check, summarises in candidate file. Founder reviews red flags directly with reference if needed.

Offer letter generation

T3 · APPROVED

Drafts offer letter with comp, equity, start date, role. Pulls from your offer template. Founder reviews + signs. No autonomous offers. Ever.

Onboarding day-by-day

T1 · AUTONOMOUS

30-day plan triggered on offer-accept. Day 1 welcome + tools setup. Day 7 first 1:1. Day 30 ramp review. Provisions Slack, email, GitHub, 1Password, Notion via your IT runbook.

Handbook + policy Q&A

T1 · AUTONOMOUS

Employees ask "how many sick days?" / "WFH policy?" / "expense limit?" in #ask-people. Cyborg cites the handbook section + answers. Hallucination = forbidden, escalates if unsure.

PTO / leave management

T1 · AUTONOMOUS

Approves PTO that fits balance + team coverage. Flags conflicts (3 of 5 engineers off same week) to manager. Updates HRIS calendar. No surprise approvals.

Performance review prep

T2 · GUIDED

Pulls 6-month data: 1:1 notes (with consent), peer feedback, OKR progress. Drafts review template per employee. Manager edits + delivers. Cyborg never decides ratings.

Morale + churn signals

T2 · GUIDED

Anonymised pulse: PR review tone shift, Slack-activity drop, PTO-bunching, 1:1-cancellation pattern. Drafts "this might need a check-in" memo to founder. Never names without consent.

Contracts & payroll prep

T3 · APPROVED

Drafts employment / contractor agreements via Deel / Rippling. Founder + finance approve before send. Payroll changes (raises / new hires) gated to founder.

Termination & exit

T4 · NEVER ALONE

Letting someone go — always founder + designated owner. Cyborg can prep paperwork, schedule logistics, deactivate access (post-meeting only). Never delivers the news.

TRUST LEVELS · T1 Cyborg sends, you can audit later T2 Cyborg drafts, human reviews T3 Human approves before action runs T4 Cyborg never acts alone

— 04 / DAY IN LIFE

— THURSDAY · 09:00 → 19:00 IST

A real Thursday. Series-A SaaS, hiring 4.

3 open reqs (Sr. Backend, Designer, AE). 47 new apps. 12 interviews scheduled. 1 offer accepted. 1 onboarding kicked off. 2 PTO requests approved.

  1. 09:00

    Overnight applications screened

47 new apps overnight (LinkedIn surge after Wed post). All scored by 09:00. 8 advanced to recruiter screen, 32 declined kindly with feedback, 7 queued for hiring manager.

  2. 10:30

    JD draft for new req

Founder asked for "Staff Platform Engineer" req in #hiring. Cyborg drafts JD in 22 min using existing engineering JDs as voice anchor. Comp band $180-220k pulled from Pave benchmark.

  3. 11:48

    Onsite panel scheduled

Designer candidate "Maya R." advanced from screen. Cyborg coordinates 4-interviewer panel across IST/PST/CET, books 4 sessions in one day, sends prep docs + portfolio brief to each interviewer.

  4. 13:14

    Handbook Q in #ask-people

"Can I expense a co-working day in Berlin while travelling?" Cyborg cites handbook §4.7 (Travel & remote-work expenses), confirms €40/day cap, points to expense form. 18 sec response.

  5. 14:00

    Reference check completed

3 references contacted Mon, all 3 responded by Thu. Cyborg summarises in candidate file: 2 strong-hire, 1 cautious-positive (concerns about scope ambiguity tolerance). Founder reviews.

  6. 15:32

    Offer accepted — trigger onboarding

"Aarav S." (Sr. Backend) signed offer 15:30. Cyborg auto-triggers 30-day onboarding plan: provisions Slack/email/GitHub/1Password/Notion access for start-date 19 May, sends welcome doc + first-week plan to candidate.

  7. 16:10

    PTO conflict flagged

Engineer requests 9-13 June off. Cyborg checks calendar — 2 other engineers already off that week, on-call gap. Approves but flags coverage to engineering lead in #eng-leads.

  8. 17:00

    Morale signal: gentle nudge

One IC's Slack activity dropped 60% over 14 days, last 2 weekly 1:1s cancelled. Cyborg drafts a "you might want to check in with [name] this week" memo to their manager. No name in any logs.

  9. 18:00

    Daily hiring digest

    3 reqs · 87 apps in funnel · 14 onsites this week · 4 offers out · 2 onboardings live · oldest open req: 16 days · pipeline-to-offer health: green.

  10. 19:00

    EOD log to founder

— ABOUT THE ROLE

You'll own the design system, ship 8-12 frames per week, and pair daily with engineering. Three customer interviews per month. You'll report to the founder, work with no design committee, and your work ships in days — not quarters.

— WHAT GOOD LOOKS LIKE (90 DAYS)

  • Audit + reset our design system in Figma (current = 60% drift)
  • Ship 2 customer-facing redesigns (onboarding flow + dashboard)
  • Establish weekly "design review" ritual for the eng team
  • Run 6 customer interviews, write the synthesis memo

— WHAT WE'RE NOT LOOKING FOR

  • Designers who need a brief to start (we hand you a Loom + a Slack channel)
  • Pixel perfectionists who can't ship a v1
  • People who think systems work is "below" them

— COMPENSATION (TRANSPARENT)

Base $120-150k based on level · Equity 0.10-0.20% · 4-week PTO + 2 weeks company shutdown · €1,500/yr learning · Home-office stipend €2,000 once · Health: full coverage in your country.

— PROCESS (4 STEPS, 14 DAYS MAX)

— 09 / FAQ

— FOUNDER QUESTIONS

Sawaal jo har head of people poochta hai.

Will it bias screening? AI hiring is a minefield.

Three guardrails: (1) Name-blind by default — Cyborg never sees the candidate's name, photo, address, or pronouns during scoring. (2) Rubric-only — scoring is anchored to a structured rubric you define in kickoff (skills + outcomes + experience), no "vibes" scoring. (3) Audit trail — every reject decision is logged with which rubric dimensions failed. You can pull a fairness report any time. We follow EEOC + EU AI Act high-risk system disclosure standards.

Can it accidentally send the wrong offer?

No. Offers are T3-gated — founder reviews + signs every single one. Cyborg drafts using your offer template + comp band + role data. If anything is outside band (over-comp, under-comp, equity outside grid), Cyborg flags + halts. No autonomous offer will ever go out, even on a perfect match.

What about candidate data — GDPR, privacy?

EU customers' candidate data lives in EU-Frankfurt encrypted at rest, never transits US infrastructure. We're DPF + GDPR + SCC-compliant. DSAR / right-to-be-forgotten requests are T4 (founder + DPO). Every action on a candidate file is audit-logged with timestamp + actor (Cyborg / founder / hiring manager).

Will it replace my recruiter?

Honestly, the contract recruiter, yes — that 15-25% per-placement fee disappears. The internal People partner role doesn't disappear, it shifts: less coordination, more strategy. Most of our customers keep their senior People hire and replace 1-2 coordinator-level roles + their entire recruiter agency budget.

What if a candidate asks "is this AI?"

Cyborg always answers honestly: "I'm a Cyborg working with the [your] team. The hiring decision will always be made by humans on the panel. Want me to put you in touch with [name] for any human-only questions?" We've found candidates respond positively — transparency builds trust, and the hiring process moves faster, which they appreciate.

Can it terminate or fire someone?

Never alone. T4-protected. Cyborg can prep paperwork, schedule the conversation logistics, deactivate access (only after the meeting concludes — never before), draft the announcement to the team. The conversation itself is human-to-human, always. We've engineered it so Cyborg literally cannot trigger an account deactivation without a logged founder approval token.

How does it handle morale + churn signals without crossing lines?

Carefully. Signals are derived from observable team-level patterns (PR activity, calendar density, public Slack tone shifts), never from private DMs / private 1:1 notes. Memos to founder are anonymised: "an IC on the engineering team has shown X pattern over 14 days — might want a check-in." The founder + manager decide if it's worth a real conversation. No name appears in logs unless a human hiring/management decision is taken.
