— 08 / ONBOARDING

— DAY 1 → DAY 7

Sign Monday, first reconciliation Friday.

  1. DAY 0

    You sign

Contract + DPA + region pick (EU / US). You add Cyborg as user (not admin) on QuickBooks/Xero, read-only on banks via Plaid, draft-only on Bill.com.

  2. DAY 1

Founder + CPA + Cyborg. Chart of accounts walkthrough, revenue rec policy, expense policy thresholds, vendor list, escalation rules, who signs what.

  3. DAY 2-3

    Historical learning

Cyborg ingests last 12 months of GL: transaction patterns, vendor categorisation, recurring journal entries, period-end accruals, tax mappings. Writes "what I learned + 7 things I'd flag" memo.

  4. DAY 4

    Shadow mode

For 24-48 hours, Cyborg drafts every reconciliation, journal, AP entry into #books-drafts. Bookkeeper / founder approve with one tap. Zero auto-posts.

  5. DAY 5

  6. DAY 6-7

    Full live mode

All feeds reconciled nightly. Journals auto-posted. AP / AR running. T3 wires + T4 tax filings still gated. First monthly close together with founder + CPA.

— 09 / FAQ

— FOUNDER + CPA QUESTIONS

Sawaal jo har CFO & CPA poochta hai.

Can it move money? What if it makes a mistake on a wire?

It cannot. By design, the Cyborg doesn't hold your bank credentials. It can draft wires + ACH + payment runs, but every single one is approved by you in your bank's own UI (Mercury, Brex, your business bank). If Cyborg drafts a $4,210 vendor wire and it should've been $4,120, you see it in Mercury before clicking "send" — same as today, but the draft was prepared in 30 seconds instead of 30 minutes.

Can it file my tax return autonomously?

No. Tax filings are T4-protected: VAT returns, GST, corporate tax, year-end statutory accounts — all require your CPA to sign + file. Cyborg preps the file (so well that CPA reviews in 14 minutes, not 4 hours), but the actual submit is human. We've engineered it so Cyborg literally cannot click "submit" on HMRC / IRS / equivalent portals.

Will my CPA / accountant lose their job?

Honestly — no, the role shifts. Your bookkeeper (the per-hour person doing data entry + reconciliation) is mostly replaced — that's the $400-600/month bill that disappears. Your CPA is more valuable than ever: they review well-prepared books in 14 minutes instead of fixing 4 hours of bookkeeper errors. Most of our customers keep their CPA + drop the bookkeeper / outsourced accounting firm.

What if it miscategorises a transaction?

Confidence-gated. Match-confidence ≥98% auto-cleared (these are routine: "Mercury → AWS → COGS:Hosting" with 12 months of history). Below 98% queued for human in #books-review — usually 5-15 transactions per day on a Series-A. Year-end audit error rate across our customer base: 0.02% of transactions, 100% caught at monthly close before books lock.

What about audit trail? Can I prove who did what?

Every journal entry, reconciliation, AP draft, AR action is logged with timestamp + actor (cyborg-cfi-009 / your-CPA / founder) + source data + confidence score. SOC 2 + SOX-ready audit trail. When auditors ask "who posted JE-2026-04-1842?" the answer is one query — with full lineage back to the underlying Stripe API call.

Multi-currency, multi-entity — can it handle a UK Ltd + US C-corp + India Pvt Ltd?

Yes — that's exactly the Controller tier ($1,599). Each entity has its own Cyborg session with its own GL + bank feeds + tax jurisdiction. Intercompany transactions auto-reconciled (UK invoices US for shared services, etc.). FX revaluation at month-end per IFRS 21 / ASC 830. Consolidation P&L + balance sheet generated in 4 hours.

Can I lose access to my books if I cancel?

Never. Your QuickBooks / Xero / NetSuite is yours — we never own the GL. On cancellation, Cyborg's user is deactivated, your books continue exactly as they are, you keep every journal entry + reconciliation + audit trail. Optional 30-day grace period to swap to a human bookkeeper. Your data, always.
