ROLE · R/10 · FINANCE TRIBE

A digital FP&A partner who tells you the 3 numbers that matter this quarter.

Reads your GL nightly. Updates the 36-month model. Builds the board pack from scratch in 4 hours (not 4 days). Drafts the investor update on the 1st. Runs scenario analysis when you ask "what if we delay the EU launch by 90 days?". Tells you the truth about CAC, LTV, magic number, NRR and rule-of-40 — with the underlying queries shown, not vibes. The board pack is always founder-signed. Investor updates always founder-sent.

Cash burn + runway

T1 · AUTONOMOUS

Net burn rate (3-month rolling), gross burn, runway months at current burn vs trended burn. Slack alerts at 18 / 12 / 9 / 6 month thresholds. Founder + board notified at 12-month flag.

Tracks open reqs vs approved headcount plan. Flags overhires (engineering at +1 over plan = $190k/yr commitment). Models ramp + payroll tax + benefits load.

Vendor + SaaS spend audit

T2 · GUIDED

Tracks every recurring SaaS / cloud / vendor spend. Detects: duplicate tools (3 different "AI summarisers"), unused seats (Notion 47 seats, 31 active), contract auto-renewals 90 days out. Drafts cancellation list.

INVESTOR UPDATE · APRIL 2026 · drafted by cyborg-cfi-010 · ○ AWAITING FOUNDER REVIEW To: 8 investors · 2 advisors · 1 board observer

TL;DR — ARR $4.21M (+$78k MoM, our best month since November). Runway 19 months at trended burn. 1 Series-B conversation opened. Asks: 2 intros below.

The numbers. April was a quiet beat: +2.7% over budget on revenue, NRR climbed to 117% (Q1: 114%), GRR held at 94%. CAC payback slipped to 13.4 months — we'll fix this in May (see "what's hard").

What worked. Two enterprise expansions in the last week ($31k + $24k ARR uplift, both originated by customer success not sales). A.S. joined as Sr. Backend (started 19 May). HR Cyborg closed the role in 19 days from open req. Maya R. starts as our first design hire 27 May. Marketing's "AI engineering" content series drove 14% of inbound this month, $0 paid.

What's hard. CAC up 14% MoM — mostly LinkedIn paid spend with falling conversion. We're killing 2 of 4 ad sets this week. AWS bill +38% over budget — Books found 3 over-provisioned EC2s (vendor dispute filed, $2,310 credit expected). Hiring 1 PMM is taking longer than planned (open since Feb — honest feedback: our JD was too generic, rewrote with HR Cyborg).

Asks. (1) Warm intro to RevOps leader at any post-Series-B SaaS — we're hiring (and we'd love a half-hour to learn). (2) Anyone with a CFO contact who's survived a Q1 audit on Carta + QuickBooks — we'd appreciate 30 minutes of "what would you do differently" before our own audit prep starts in July.

Thanks — as always, all our raw KPIs are in the live dashboard. Reply with anything you'd like to dig into.

— INTEGRATIONS

One model, eight sources of truth.

Cyborg reads from your books, billing, CRM, product, payroll, and cap table. The model is a derivative — never the source. If a number is wrong, you fix it upstream and the model re-derives nightly.

— 07 / PRICING

— FLAT MONTHLY · NO PER-INVESTOR FEE

3 tiers. Cheaper than a fractional CFO.

Most fractional CFOs cost $4-8k/month for 8 hours of work. This Cyborg costs $799-1,799 and works every night.

— 08 / ONBOARDING

— DAY 1 → DAY 7

Brief Monday, first board pack in 7 days.

  1. DAY 0

    You sign

Contract + DPA + region pick. Read access added on QuickBooks/Xero, Stripe, HubSpot, Carta. Edit access on a fresh Google Sheets workspace for the model.

  2. DAY 1

    Kickoff (90 min)

Founder + Cyborg. Last 4 board packs walked through, KPI definitions locked (your NRR formula, your CAC denominator, your "active customer" definition), board meeting cadence, investor list with cadence.

  3. DAY 2-3

    Historical model build

Cyborg ingests last 24 months of GL + 36 months of CRM + 12 months of product analytics. Builds the 36-month live model. Reproduces last 3 board packs — if numbers match within $500, model is trusted.

  4. DAY 4

    Voice training (investor update)

Cyborg reads last 18 months of investor updates. Picks up your cadence ("TL;DR / numbers / what worked / what's hard / asks"). Drafts a sample for last month — founder grades it.

  5. DAY 5

    Shadow first board pack

If a board meeting is in <30 days, Cyborg drafts the next pack alongside the founder's existing process. Side-by-side comparison. Founder picks what to keep.

  6. DAY 6-7

    Full live mode

Model refreshes nightly. KPI dashboard live in Slack. Investor updates drafted on the 1st. Board pack drafted automatically on close + 1. T3 sends + T4 cap-table actions still gated.

— 09 / FAQ

— FOUNDER + CFO QUESTIONS

Sawaal jo har founder & board poochta hai.

Will it replace my fractional CFO?

The board-pack-building, model-refreshing, KPI-tracking, investor-update-drafting work — yes, that's the boring 80% your fractional CFO is charging you $4-8k for. The strategic 20% (negotiating term sheets, sitting in board meetings, advising on M&A) is still human. Most of our customers fire their fractional CFO and add a part-time board-level advisor for the strategic moments — net savings around $3-5k/month with better data.

Can it send investor updates without me seeing them?

No — T3 gated by design. Cyborg drafts the update by the 1st (or whenever your cadence is), pings you in Slack, you edit in Visible.vc / Notion / Gmail draft, you click send from your own inbox. Cyborg cannot reach your investor distribution list directly — that auth lives only with the founder.

How accurate is the forecast?

90-day forecast accuracy across our customer base: ±2% for revenue, ±4% for net burn, ±1.5 months for runway. The reason it's tighter than human-built models: refreshed nightly from live data, no "I forgot to update the headcount tab", no formula errors. Anything past 90 days is honest scenario-based (base/upside/downside) — no false precision.

What if my board wants a number defined differently?

Locked at kickoff (Day 1). Your CAC denominator, your NRR period, your "active customer" definition, your COGS classification — all defined in writing during onboarding, then encoded in the dbt / Cube semantic layer. Board can challenge in a meeting, you change one definition, all 14 slides + investor update + dashboards re-derive overnight. No spreadsheet copy-paste.

Can it touch my cap table?

Read-only on Carta. Drafts modeling for new option grants, secondaries, future round dilution — never executes. T4-protected: stock grants, board resolutions, 409A triggers always require founder + board + lawyer. Cyborg's role is "prep so well that legal review takes 20 min not 4 hours."

Will my board members trust numbers from an AI?

Two reasons they do: (1) Every metric in the dashboard has a "show your work" link — the underlying SQL or model formula is one click away, so any board member can audit. No black-box numbers. (2) Founder still presents and signs — the board never interacts with the Cyborg directly. We've onboarded 14 customers into board meetings without a single trust issue. Several boards have specifically said "this is the cleanest pack I've seen."

What about during a fundraise?

This is exactly when it earns its salary. Data room: trial balance, GL detail, AR aging, AP aging, cohort tables, ARR bridge, customer concentration, MRR walk — all auto-prepared, T3-gated for any investor access. Diligence questions ("what's your gross-margin trend by cohort?") answered in minutes, not the 4-day "let me get back to you" cycle. Most fundraises shorten by 4-6 weeks because the data room is already audit-clean.
